Use Your HSA or FSA at Native Wellness
What is an HSA and FSA?
HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) are both accounts that let you use pre-tax money to pay for health expenses—like doctor visits, prescriptions, lab tests, and more.
HSA (Health Savings Account)
Only available if you have a High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP).
You can open it yourself—you don’t need an employer to offer it.
Money rolls over each year and can even grow tax-free through interest or investments.
Self-employed people can qualify if they have an HDHP.
FSA (Flexible Spending Account)
Only available through an employer—you can’t open one on your own.
You decide how much to contribute, and money is taken from your paycheck before taxes.
Use it or lose it: Most of the money must be used within the plan year (though some plans offer a short grace period or small rollover).

Native Wellness is an approved TrueMed provider, which means you can now use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) dollars to pay for eligible services, including personalized nutrition and lifestyle coaching.
How it works
We’ve partnered with Truemed, a service that verifies health purchases for HSA/FSA eligibility. If your wellness goals are related to a diagnosed medical condition (e.g., diabetes, anxiety, IBS, PCOS, chronic fatigue, etc.), you may be eligible to use pre-tax funds.
Step 1: From link below on TrueMed site, take a quick, private health survey. A licensed provider will review your answers to determine eligibility. If eligible, you'll receive a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) within 1-2 days.
Step 2: Make your purchase on Native Wellness using your regular credit card, not FSA/HSA card.
Step 3: If approved, you’ll receive a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) and instructions on how to submit it for reimbursement from your HSA/FSA provider. Claims are typically paid out in 1-2 weeks.

Please contact support@truemed.com to troubleshoot the issue. HSA/FSA plan administrators often have detailed requirements, so it may be as simple as re-issuing your Letter of Medical Necessity using the administrator’s form. If they are unable to reverse the rejection, they will refund your Truemed fee.
